We offer the study of French, Portuguese and Spanish
languages together with their culture and civilization. Our curriculum includes an accelerated
track which culminates in Advanced Placement courses in French and Spanish. All three languages
offer an Early Enrollment Program (EEP) course in conjunction with R.I. College.
70% of the student body studies a foreign language and some individuals study more than one foreign language.
Second language skills are enhanced through the use of a modern language resource center. Our computerized lab includes the latest technology in the use of video and audio media. The language lab has computer stations which will soon have access to the internet.
The Foreign Language Department provides the opportunity for active involvement in cultural activities which go beyond classroom learning.
The following activities are sponsored/organized by the department and/or its members.
