Description:
SNAP Productions (Students Now at Portsmouth or Sometimes, Not Always, Perfect) Produces two full-length plays, or a full-length play and an evening of one-acts each year. Every other year, we combine our efforts with the music department to produce a musical. We also produce a one-act play in late winter to take to the Rhode Island State Drama Festival, a competitive event. Auditions are open to all students and no previous experience is necessary.
If being on stage is not for you, opportunities are available behind the scenes in set design and construction, lighting, box office, props, costumes, and stage or house manager. Interested students must be aware that this involves an extensive commitment of time and energy. We are also a member troupe of the International Thespian Society, an honor society for theatre. Participating on stage in two full-length plays or behind the scenes in three generally qualifies students for membership. Students who participate all four years earn "A Life in the Theatre" award their senior year. Other awards are also available.
